Die Kommunikation findet über TCP/IP statt. Der Port für die Netzwerkfreigabe muss vergeben und der Serverdienst installiert und gestartet werden. Sobald der Dienst einmal installiert wurde, startet dieser bei jedem Neustart automatisch - es sei denn, in der Systemsteuerung ist eine andere Startart für diesen Dienst gewählt worden oder der Diagnosemodus wird verwendet. Der Diagnosemodus läuft in einem MS-DOS-Ausgabefenster, er wird beim nächsten Systemstart nicht mitgestartet.
