# License options

## Permanently assigned License Consumer <a href="#fest_zugewiesene_licenseconsumer" id="fest_zugewiesene_licenseconsumer"></a>

To permanently assign [License Consumer](https://github.com/Dataforum-Software/gitbook/blob/master/acron/9.3/en/admin/glossar/license_consumer.md) to specific workstations, the computer's Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) has to be specified. This ensures that there is guaranteed access to ACRON at these workstations within the scope of user privileges and the scope of the license.

From a workstation with a permanently assigned License Consumer, modules can be opened for any number of plants. These modules are not taken into account in the further addition of License Consumers.

Permanently assigned License Consumers are deducted directly from the available amount.

Note

In case of local use of a license with 1 License Consumer, this setting is recommended if project engineering is to be done in more than one plant.

The fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of a workstation can be determined using Microsoft PowerShell.

The call (Resolve-Dnsname 0.0.0.0)\[0].NameHost returns the FQDN of the current workstation.

To determine the FQDN of another workstation in the network, 0.0.0.0 must be replaced by the IP address of the workstation whose FQDN is to be determined.

Attention

If the workstation in question is not on the same network as the database server, the name resolution may return a different result for the FQDN of this workstation from the database server's point of view. If a module is logged into the system on the corresponding workstation, the differing FQDN of this workstation can be seen in the license overview in this case.
{% endhint %}
