# Notification trigger

A notification trigger defines which process variables are to be monitored, and how.

* A trigger may be active or inactive.
* You can enter a subject,
* a general message text, and
* specify the analysis level. The analysis level determines which values are applied for monitoring. This analysis level applies to all process variables that are selected as triggers.

For the individual process variables in the trigger (=trigger conditions),

* a notification text can also be stored (this supplements the general message text)
* and monitoring can be activated or deactivated.

Assigning a notification plan specifies who is to be informed when.

You can also specify the time after which a new notification is to be sent if the trigger condition is still met.
