# Key figure templates
Key figure templates form the basis for special calculation variables termed [key figures](/acron-9.3/en/anlagenkonfiguration/verfahrensgroessen/kennzahl.md).
ACRON provides various industry-specific key figure templates. The calculation bases embedded in these templates enable specific key figures to be created even without detailed knowledge of the underlying formulas.
Alongside the templates provided by ACRON, you can also create your own templates.
## Key figure template group
Key figure templates are organized in groups. Grouping brings multiple templates together to form a larger unit, making structures clearer and more concise when there are large numbers of key figure templates.
Note
Only user-defined key figure templates can be moved within the user-defined groups by [drag & drop](/acron-9.3/en/erklaerung_zur_bedienung.md#drag-drop).
