# Key figure template

The most important element of the key figure template is the [calculation formula](/acron-9.3/en/anlagenkonfiguration/kennzahlvorlagen/kennzahlvorlage/register_formel.md#vg-formel). The component elements of the formula are created as [parameters](/acron-9.3/en/anlagenkonfiguration/kennzahlvorlagen/kennzahlvorlage/register_formel.md#parameter), enclosed in \[]. The parameters are highlighted in gray; the selected parameter is orange. If this parameter is present multiple times in a formula, all occurrences are highlighted in orange. The text entered in \[] is the [identification](/acron-9.3/en/anlagenkonfiguration/kennzahlvorlagen/kennzahlvorlage/register_formel.md#parameter) of the parameter. A [name](/acron-9.3/en/anlagenkonfiguration/kennzahlvorlagen/kennzahlvorlage/register_formel.md#parameter), a [description](/acron-9.3/en/anlagenkonfiguration/kennzahlvorlagen/kennzahlvorlage/register_formel.md#parameter) and the base category of the unit can additionally be entered. The unit of the assigned process variable must then be a unit from the [unit category](/acron-9.3/en/anlagenkonfiguration/einheiten.md#kategorie) specified here.

All settings of the key figure template serve as defaults for the [key figure](/acron-9.3/en/anlagenkonfiguration/verfahrensgroessen/kennzahl.md) created on the basis of the template.

Note

Only user-defined key figure templates can be moved within the user-defined groups by [drag & drop](/acron-9.3/en/erklaerung_zur_bedienung.md#drag-drop).

The key figure templates preset by ACRON cannot be edited.
