# Access

#### Authorization Key

The Authorization Key is required to access the interface of the Edge AIP. This ensures that only authorized programs can access the interface.

The following Sending Media support the connection to the Edge AIP:

* Ethernet-Modem-e-mail
* Ethernet-Modem-SMS

In the AIP Configurator the modem type 'Edge AIP' must be selected for the above mentioned Sending Media. The host name/URL and the authorization key of the modem must be entered in the Sending Media.

Via the user interface of the modem you can generate and save a new Authorization Key at any time with "Create & save". This may be necessary if you are not sure whether the key is used by other programs. After the update the Authorization Key must be updated in the AIP Configurator at the Sending Media.
