# acron Service

Functionality and General Information

The JUNE5-ACRON Service connects acron databases with JUNE5. To ensure parallel processing of incoming acron database queries, the JUNE5-ACRON Service starts and uses a variable number of utilities. It works with different categories of utilities. There is the *DATA* category, which enables retrieval of process data from a configured acron system. Additionally, there is the *REPORT* category, which handles retrieval of acron reports from the configured system.

In principle:

* The more utilities per system category, the faster the processing of acron database queries,
* The more utilities started, the more computing power the application requires.

The acron database queries are passed from the JUNE5 server to the acron data source. A component of the JUNE5-ACRON Service ensures the distribution of acron database queries among the utilities. For this, the JUNE5-ACRON Service must be configured.
