# Web API

The JUNE5 Web API is an HTTP protocol-based interface for providing acron data in a network, for example. The application can operate in both encrypted and unencrypted mode (HTTPS/HTTP). The API functions are only accessible after authentication. A token-based security concept has been implemented for this purpose. It is based on the OAuth standard. By default, the Web API can provide the requested data in JSON format.

{% hint style="info" %}
To use the JUNE5 Web API, programming knowledge is required:

* The HTTP protocol (<http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rcf2616.htm>)
* The OData protocol (<http://www.odata,org/>)
  {% endhint %}
