# OSISoft PI System

The following input fields (required fields) are described below:

### Name

In this input field, a symbolic name of the newly created endpoint is entered.

### Identification

A unique identification is entered here.

### Enabled

If the check box is set, the OSISoft PI endpoint is enabled. Otherwise the endpoint remains disabled.

### Server URL

In this input field, the PI Web API base URL of the PI System is specified.

For example: <https://my-server/piwebapi> or <https://127.0.0.1/piwebapi>

### Authentication Method

From the dropdown list field located directly below the "Authentication" label, select an authentication method that is used when checking the integrity of the user. Three authentication methods are supported:

* Anonymous
* Basic
* Kerberos

### Username

In this input field, a user account name of a user on the PI System is entered.

### Password

The password for the user specified in the Username field is entered in this field.

### Optional Parameter

To specifically search an OSI PI asset database, you can define in this input field which asset database is considered in the search for measurements. To do this, a key/value pair is entered in the form. The key is the name "Asset" and the value is the absolute path of the asset database.

#### Example:

Asset=OSI-PI-SERVER\ASSETDATABASE

* When saving or subsequently changing the settings, all required fields must be filled in.
* Required fields are those fields whose left border is marked in red.
* For the authentication methods "Basic" and "Kerberos", the password must be re-entered if a subsequent change is made.

## Test Connection

Using the *Test Connection* button in the horizontal toolbar, the connection to the endpoint can be tested.
