# Self-Signed SSL Certificates

If self-created TLS certificates are used on the JUNE5 server, their validity cannot be automatically verified by the app. Instead, manual verification by the user is required.

When JUNE5 FlexIn detects an unknown certificate during connection to the JUNE5 server, it displays its identification data (thumbprint, issuer, subject) so that the user can verify whether this data matches that of the certificate used by the server. If so, the user can confirm this via the "Accept" button. The connection is then considered secure and established. For future connections, this information is persisted. Thus, the confirmation dialog only appears again if the certificate on the server changes.
